Learn more about SwiftMobile’s Venue Program and our Premier, Convene and Pipit apps.

We’re native (on iPhone, iPad, Android—and BlackBerry).

SwiftMobile builds native apps for iPhone, iPad, Blackberry, and Android devices (and we build real iPad apps, not just iPad versions) which means superior performance and reliability. We offer the choice, too, of building for any or all of these devices based on the needs of your attendees. With all the Convene and Premier programs we build, we also includes a Pipit, a slick mobile-Web option at no additional cost.

Lots of firms build good apps for iPhone and Android. But tablets are different devices and Blackberry is more that 25 percent of the smartphone market—even more in fields where security and personal privacy are at a premium. Can you afford to ignore your tablet and BlackBerry users? (Want to see what we can do with a BlackBerry? Click here.)

Why build native and not just mobile-Web? Simple—we want to offer the very best apps for meetings and events. We aim delight your attendees and improve their experience at your event. We want to build apps that people use so that you can offer a better advertising and sponsorship channel to your customers.

SwiftMobile started as a mobile-Web company, but we quickly realized that mobile-Web alone would not meet the standard we wanted to achieve for our meeting and event customers. Studies show users greatly prefer native apps to mobile-Web apps and are more likely to use them. We’ve written extensively on this topic, done our own studies and collected some of the best research. You can read more here.

We offer the best features.

Put yourself in your attendees’ shoes—what do you need when you attend a conference or event? Think about that and we think you’ll see why our apps receive such high rates of use.

Four members of our management team have each spent more than 15 years in the meeting and event industry. We understand attendee needs and expectations, and we know what the business traveler needs and wants when attending a conference or trade show. When we set out to design our meeting app programs, our mission was to build the best-performing and most indispensable mobile meeting apps available.

Today, our feature set is like no one else’s. We’re the only developer that consistently and competitively offers the right combination of proven standard features like session details, smart search and filtering, local and transportation updates, show floor maps, audience response tools, and exhibitor and venue information—along with valuable mobile advertising and sponsorship inventory and the ability to customize your apps for your unique audience.

We deliver better usability.

We admit it: we’re obsessed with usability. Our apps’ features have been tested by thousands of users at real events. We’re always learning from our users and making improvements to performance. As software and hardware changes, we’re on it. Our goal is to be simply indispensable.

Why does usability matter so much? If your apps don’t work, they reflect badly on your organization, your event and your sponsors. They won’t deliver value to sponsors who may be paying for a presence in your app. And they frustrate your attendees. We know from mobile analytics that users tend not to launch apps that don’t work a second time. On the other hand, analytics show that many users launch our apps 12+ times a day during an event.

You have once chance to make a great impression. So why not do just that? (Want to know more?)

We customize for your community.

When it comes to their conferences, trade shows and meetings, research scientists, bankers, chicken farmers, fans of manga, car enthusiasts and outdoor retailers have different needs and expectations. They might even use a different mix of devices. Yet most developers give you a choice of a standard app or a custom app. Not us.

We think you ought to have a third choice: a tested, proven platform of standard features that help keep costs down—along with the option to customize or add features that are meaningful and relevant to your attendees and exhibitors and work to enhance YOUR meeting (here’s an example of what we mean).

At SwiftMobile, we’ve carefully built that kind of flexibility into our platform so that our apps can meet be customized to meet different needs—from audience surveys and polling to branding, privacy tools, trade show floors maps, and gamefication, just for starters. We can turn off features you don’t want and turn on ones you do. We can customize existing features. We can develop new features, too—for any platform. You never have to have an app with features that don’t really fit your community or corporate culture—or make your organization seem silly or out-of-touch.

We offer our customers the opportunity to earn new revenues through valuable mobile sponsorships.

Some apps perform well and get high rates of use. Others don’t even launch when the wi-fi isn’t working. If you were a sponsor, which app would you prefer to advertise in?  (Read more here.)

The reliability and usability of our apps translates into significant sponsorship opportunities for our customers. We’ve carefully designed room for three different types of mobile advertising and sponsorship opportunities into our app (with more to come). And we’ve done it in a way that does not interfere with performance or slow down the attendee. (It’s why we were named one of the Gartner Group’s 2010 “Cool Companies” in the area of contextual computing).

Talk to us about how apps can create income. With each app , we’re helping our customers earn tens of thousands of dollars in mobile sponsorships and we ‘re working with our clients to develop long-term sponsorship plans that create a foundation for successfully migrating sponsorship revenue opportunities from print to mobile.

We understand the medium.

Apps are not websites. Smartphones are not laptops. And people don’t all use handheld devices the same way or have the same expectations of a mobile device that they do of a website. It’s easy to load up an app with lots of features, add advertising, or large amounts of content and try to make it do the job of a website. The risks, though, are poor performance and a slow, bloated, unusable app that does not meet user expectations, annoys them into thinking you don’t respect them—and then never gets used.

For example, we’ve spent a lot of time thinking and learning and watching people use search features in a mobile device. At a trade show or conference, people aren’t just searching—they’re also exploring. They’re “shopping” for ideas, products and inspiration. They are hoping to make discoveries. This is why standard search isn’t good enough for some mobile apps at some events. How can mobile support that kind of searching? We have some ideas—(ask us to show you some of these tools.)

Many RFPs come through our inbox that ask for features we know that few users will ever use. We also see RFPs ask for things that will interfere with an app’s ability to perform as it should. If you want a developer who will give you the facts about the mobile medium instead of taking your money to develop custom features that will never see much use, you’ve come to the right place. Our goal is makes apps that are truly indispensable and then some. That’s how you get the best return on your mobile investment.

We’re committed to delivering the best service and support in our industry.

Despite the rapid adoption of smartphones, according to the PEW Internet Research, only about a third of people with smartphones have actually downloaded an app. We also know from our own research that for some significant portion of your audience, your app may well be the very first app they ever download and use. This is one reason why we offer serious support and customer care during your event. We know that some events have attendees who are not familiar with apps and might not even understand some of the cool things their phones can do. How many app developers do you know who offer live 24/7 support to your attendees at a meeting?

We also offer our venue, association, and enterprise customers, not only tech support, but also advice on how to get the most from their mobile programs. Mobile is still a new medium. It can be a challenging medium and the technology and tools are constantly changing. There’s a lot of confusion and hype and obfuscation out there. Let us help you cut right through it.
